Scribes of Alexandria is a browser extension that allows users to:

• Save and organize online articles locally or archive them on the blockchain.

• Generate AI-powered summaries of articles.

• Convert articles into podcasts, narrated by selectable hosts based on historical figures (e.g., Socrates, Hypatia, Machiavelli, Thomas Jefferson).

• Discover related articles based on their saved content.

2. Eligibility

To use the Extension:

• You must be at least 13 years old or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction.

• By using the Extension, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

• Registration requires a valid email address to create and manage your account.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

• Notify us immediately at help@alexandria.io if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. User Content

• Saved and Archived Articles:

• Articles saved locally remain on your device and are not accessed by us.

• Articles archived to the blockchain are scraped serverside from the article’s HTML and automatically uploaded. Users do not review or confirm the content before it is archived.

• Once archived, the content becomes permanent and publicly accessible on the blockchain. Ensure you only initiate the archival process for content you are legally allowed to store and share.

• Generated Podcasts:

• The Extension allows you to generate podcasts narrated by pre-designed AI hosts inspired by historical figures (e.g., Socrates, Hypatia, Machiavelli, and Thomas Jefferson).

• The narration is based on the personality and style of the selected host and cannot be customized beyond this selection.

• Prohibited Content:

• You may not use the Extension to scrape, archive, or generate content that violates any applicable laws or infringes on intellectual property rights.

5. Privacy

Your use of the Extension is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and handle your information.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Use the Extension in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or tamper with the Extension or its underlying code.

• Refrain from using the Extension in any manner that disrupts its operation or other users’ experience.

7. Intellectual Property

• All trademarks, logos, and proprietary information related to Scribes of Alexandria are the property of the developers.

• The voices and personalities of the podcast hosts are fictional representations inspired by historical figures and are proprietary to the developers.

• You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Extension without prior written permission, except as allowed under applicable law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Extension is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

• We are not liable for any damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the Extension or the blockchain archiving process.

• We are not responsible for inaccuracies in the scraped content or for any legal liabilities arising from the content being archived.

• We are not responsible for third-party services, such as blockchain networks, that the Extension interacts with.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in the Extension or applicable laws. We will notify users of significant changes. Your continued use of the Extension after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Extension at any time if:

• You violate these Terms.

• Continued access poses a risk to the security or functionality of the Extension.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Montana. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Kalispel, Montana.
